How is Obama not a Racist?

If he feels that blacks are capable of making it on their own why does he want to build projects in predominantly white neighborhoods and give blacks and Latinos free housing? That is a contradiction isn't it? My mentality is that poor people tend to live in the city, not the suburbs. I live in the city, I'm poor and I'm white, does that mean I don't qualify for a house in the suburbs because my skin isn't the right color? I want a house right next to Obamas. I'm not racist. ;-)
