DEMENTIa PROBS!!!!! pLS HELP!!!!!?

my grandfather has recently been diagnosed with dementia, he has been forgetting things and people, places and has been found going walkabout. it has become really distressing for my father as his own dad constantly forgets his own son. Is there some way to manage his dementia and to decrease it severtity??
