Word around the league is Gerald Wallace is on the trade block, why would Charlotte trade their best player?

he is the best all around player in charlotte but the problem is, their not looking like a playoff caliber team that they did last season. they've been losing games, and wallace hasn't performed the way he did last season. i read in msn sports that charlotte isn't trying to trade him. i guess bobcats are trying to start an early 'rebuild' for their team, and that would mean captain jack, who's a better all around offensive player than wallace, would be the main man now in charlotte.
